If there are any shows missing, it's probably because there was no OAD in the thread title.

I don't see any ratings.
Top Threads based on 'Page Views?' not sure if this is necessary.
Very clever.

But that's all TV ratings are, either -- how many sets of eyeballs watched the show. This set of ratings is how many sets of eyeballs opened the thread. :D
Yeah, I think this is cool.

Who are those other two people still watching K-ville. :p
I like it, thanks. Make it a weekly feature. :)
It helps me see what shows I might need to check.

I watch the top 3, but no way I'm watching Caveman. :p

Fine. Then by that logic, these are the TCF ratings for the threads, not for the shows...and I'm not sure how interesting a rating of threads really is...

What are you doing here, then?

You mean in this thread? I checked it out because from the thread title, I thought it somehow was some kind of show rating...and in fact, that's what the OP claimed to be providing.

I posted just to ensure that everyone is clear that the list in the OP has nothing to do with any sort of show ratings.
I'd have thought it was obvious (recently made more obvious through an edit, which unfortunately doesn't make its way to the thread list). But in any case, I suppose I left out my smilie.
Yea. Definitely not a factor of good shows. Cavemen for example is so high on the list because everyone is posting in there how bad it is. :)

Even TV ratings are not a measure of good shows---they're a measure of popular shows.
I got the idea from Bicker.

I think it is interesting to compare the "actual" ratings to what is popular at TCF.

I only watched 1 of the top 10 Nielson rated shows, but 5 of the top 10 TCF shows.

The only shows in our top 20 that are in the top 20 in Nielson ratings are Pushing Daisies and Survivor.

BTW, Here are the Nielson's:

Is "views" incremented every time the same person views a thread a second, third, etc. time? Or is it truly unique page views (i.e., what the TV business calls "cume").

That's my question too.

It's unique, although I don't know for "how long" (if you look at a thread, go out, and then look again, it only counts that as one view).

EDIT: oops - it doesn't seem to update after the first view either. :) I always assumed it was unique, because it didn't seem to update... but I guess it just takes a while. :)

Although, looking at the numbers, it would make sense that they are unique. They seem awfully low otherwise.

In most configurations, people have VBulletin not to update thread views immediately, because it creates extra overhead. I am pretty sure that TCF is set that way... so you would not see an update right away, even if it did count it.
