Over the past year, my TIVO lost the ability to display some channels. I used multiple cable cards provided by Comcast and no change. Just recently all channels are not display citing contact the cable provider. Comcast repair attempted 12 cards and none of them worked. I moved my TIVO to my office and received the same errors thus eliminating the home cable line. Comcast was unable to see the cards on their network any longer. We are now of the opinion that it must be the card reader on the TIVO until itself. I called Weeknees who suggested it was: a) a power supply problem; b) capaciter problem; c) motherboard problem. I don't know how it can be the power supply as the unit works fine except for the inability to read the cable card. They told me that if it's the motherboard the unit is non-repairable. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Also, is it possible for me to purchase another XL(same model) on eBay as an example and just swap the hard drive?

CableCards are one-way devices and Comcast has never been able to 'see' it on their 'network'.

Sounds like deflection to me.

I'd start over with a phone call to 1-800-xfinity and forget about the local techs. It just needs proper pairing.
