Family Guy is leaving Adult Swim, the network that saved it
"That's because FXX (which, like Family Guy itself, is now owned by Disney, unlike the WarnerMedia-controlled Adult Swim) has just announced a major deal to secure the entirety of the show's back catalogue, as part of an effort to cement itself as the exclusive cable spot for all the animated sitcoms you used to love on Fox, notably Bob's Burgers, King Of The Hill, and The Simpsons. (The Cleveland Show will also be there.) (Oh, and Futurama will join them in November; American Dad is presumably tied up in deals with TBS, where it currently airs, and appears to be continuing to appear on [as].) All of which means that tonight's reruns of Family Guy on Adult Swim-a run of 3 2015 episodes culminating in a reprise of season 13's "Stewie Is Enciente"-will be the final Family Guys to air on Adult Swim, possibly ever. Truly, the ending of an era."

TBS still has American Dad! and will keep making new episodes. It was renewed through season 19.
Will still watch the new AD's (although the last few weren't very good) but assume will still be repeated on cartoon at least for awhile. I used to have TBS going in background while on computer in the afternoon for it and FG. Before this they had been pushing further and further the time they started them after the 14 hours of friends anyway.

New American Dad, 1/24 on TBS was starting to think wasn't coming back.
It seems like new episodes of AD have been really sporadic over the last few years. It'll be a new season and before you can turn around there's nothing. I haven't looked to see how many episodes per season but it seems like less and less, not only since it moved to TBS but even more so of late.

There have been 22 per season in all but the first TBS season, which is more than they had in any of the seasons on Fox -- but you're right, it kind of doesn't seem like it because TBS has tended to air them for 22 weeks in a row (unlike broadcast networks, which will often stretch 22 episodes of a show's season over a 9-month period).
