I have a Tivo S2 unit hooked up to a Cox cable HD STB. If I want to switch back to just an SD STB, will I lose my scheduled programs in the process? Or will they be preserved through the transition? I assume I will have to run Guided Setup again.

Thanks in advance,

You'll also have to make sure the TiVo's IR codes are good for the new SD box.

If the two boxes are from the same maker, things will likely be okay.

Also, it's a little unclear if you're cutting back on your service from digital cable to analog.

If some of the season passes were for channels your new box can't get, then those won't record. (No way to tune them.)

If the new box gets all the same channels the other one did (and the IR codes are the same) you should be all set.

I'm just going from HD Digital to Digital. The new box will still be a Scientific Atlanta STB. The codes should match as I used this box a while ago. Just couldn't remember if the re-doing of Guided Setup would affect existing season passes and planned recordings.

Thanks!
