Switching from basic TIVO to HD

I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I did a search and couldn't pull up specifically what I was looking for.

I have the simple, basic TIVO, and we just purchased an HDTV. I've read the posts and it sounds like here in Chattanooga, we go to Comcast, pick up the cable cards and get the new TIVO box, and go from there.

My question is, can I transfer the recordings from my first TIVO box to my new box? I have about 15 things recorded, that I would like to see.

Thanks,
Pam

At the moment you cannot. The Series 3 and HD TiVo do not support Multi-room Viewing. Thus, you cannot transfer the programs. However, this capability is said to be coming in November or so.
Thanks for your quick answer.

Can I hook up my current TIVO box to another TV to finish watching the shows that I've recorded and start my new TIVO box on the new TV?

Yes. I have two tivos hooked up to my tv. I think if you get a new tv. You can hook up the new tivo to hdmi. and the old tivo to s-video. You should be able to switch imputs with your remote. Or you could move it to another tv.

Yes, the Tivo doesn't know or care what TV its' used with.
