Well, this did it's job. I've been feeling kind of "Meh" about Winners at War but now I'm looking forward to it! Seeing some of those classic Survivor moments was great.
It's just a ****ing stick!

It did it's job, but I couldn't help but notice some winners weren't even mentioned on it while others got multiple segments.
I would certainly take more footage of Boston Rob at the expense of Nick any day! ;)

While I'll always take any Survivor I can get, the retrospective was a little scattered. For a team that is used to crafting some terrific stories, there wasn't a great narrative or rhyme or reason to the retrospective.

The Sneak Peek, however.... SOOOO much fun!! Really did its job of getting the viewer super excited for the new season. I was very surprised to hear Sandra say Rob didn't tell her Amber was coming out despite them spending all that time together last season on the Island of the Idols. Perhaps they aren't the tight alliance I thought they would be after that experience.

I agree. They highlighted some great moments, but the whole thing felt like it was just sort of thrown together.
Rob didn't tell Sandra that HE was going to be on WatW.
I was shocked by that revelation. I thought for sure they would have formed a pre-game alliance during the filming of 39.

Meh, it was a clip show, like most other retrospective clip shows.

I bet this whole Rob didn't tell Sandra he was going on the show is just a way to get us excited to watch and it's about creating a controversy that really doesn't matter. If it gets people interested, they'll spread that rumor.

Can't believe they didn't bring the first winner back.
After what happened last season, and Hatch's antics on previous ones, I think that's a good thing.
Jeff has spoken about this a few times. Given the current "climate" and the controversy around what Hatch did last time out with Sue Hawk, there was no way they were going to bring him back. I will admit, that without Hatch, who invented the "old school" method of playing and was the very first winner, it does feel like it's missing something. But not too much.

This is a video of Richard Hatch with his side of the story regarding what happened with Sue Hawk during the challenge, where she claimed he sexually assaulted her. Very interesting, especially where he describes, in detail, exactly what (from his perspective) happened during the challenge.
