Been looking forward to this for a long time. Survivor is back soon! Now just to find it on TiVo with the stupid decision to make every season a separate series so I can record it.
For the moment, my existing season pass caught it.

So now I have to remember to keep an eye on it because the odds are non-zero that they will retroactively change its series ID to make it its own series thus breaking my now working season pass. ;)

Thanks everybody! I know I have many versions of the Survivor onepass and I haven't looked to see if this one needed to be set up again. Sounds like that's finally fixed.

I still have to delete like 4 onepasses from Big Brother that were from past seasons.

I still enjoy this show. Not a big fan of some of the changes over the years but you can’t please everyone. Looking forward to the premiere.

So Jeff isn't gonna say "C'mon in, guys!" anymore because it's politically incorrect? Give me a friggin' break. (And I'm a liberal Democrat!)

Did Jeff have covid? Looks like he lost a lotta weight.
Sorry, but the world has changed and because inclusivity is a GOOD thing, I give them credit for trying to do something.

I had issues before NASCAR went to "drivers start your engines" because "Gentlemen start your engine" was excluding 50% of the world from feeling it applied to them.
I also feel somewhat insulted when we have corporate meetings that start with "gentlemen"
While you can say that "guys" is non-gendered, it's not and there is no reason to use a gendered phrase where you do NOT need it, I expect very few men to understand why this is a big deal, but for those that do, thanks for being allies!

Non-male gendered people are 50%+ of the world, there's no reason to not include them

I don't think I'm being insenstive, to me, the word in question has always been a word that can be both gender specific and gender neutral at the same time. When I hear that word, it typically applies to everyone.

As I've said before (probably way to many times) I really believe we push words into becoming bad words.

I don't disagree with you feeling that way, the issue is that it's not universal and I can pretty much say that if you asked 100 men and 100 women if it was a gendered term the answers from men vs women would be different.

Seems silly when there's no reason to use a gendered term there.

Makes sense to me. The world is changing.

Can we turn this into a Spoiler thread?
I created an episodic spoiler thread for the premiere episode... This will allow people who fall behind to be able to participate in the discussion rather than force them to either be exposed to spoilers in an "all season" thread...or keep them out of the conversation because they don't want to be exposed to spoilers...

The issue with this though is two fold. One, the whole episode felt stages, as if the producers were doing it to pat themselves on the back. And two, when Jeff asked if anyone was offended with the use of the term guys, it was the women who said it was fine, they weren't offended, which goes against your premise that women might feel offended by it. In THIS case, it was a man who felt offended by it. I get the feeling though that Jeff was going to do this regardless and maybe the man came forward at the prodding of production. And why even make a big deal about it? Just change what you say and be done with it? That's why, to me, it came across as disingenuous, that production was trying to make this point for the sake of the great publicity it would give them. I don't disagree with your premise, as I've tried to catch myself before I say things like guys when women are involved.

I generally agree but I don't catch myself with the word "guys" when addressing a group. Words evolve and take on different meanings over time. The best example is the word "gay"!

Does anyone think The Flintstones were referring to a same sex orgy in their theme song when they say they we'll have a "gay old time"? But some people are always looking to make a point about being offended by something.
