I have not noticed any either... Hoping they would have one to transfer out our Roameos ... This deal isn't too bad but usually the transfer programs are much better... will keep waitingUse code BREEZE to save $350 on the Edge w/All-In service per the tivo.com website. Through 8/27.
I don't see any transfer promo yet anywhere for older lifetime units. Anyone get emails or anything?
Pretty much same thing, price wise. $600 for the Edge with lifetime. If transferring would have been $500 with lifetime. But you'd be losing the value of your trade in, probably $75-200. So just sell the one you would have traded in, price would end up about the same or maybe less, Premiere and up probably could be sold for over $100. If have an S2 maybe wait....................Use code BREEZE to save $350 on the Edge w/All-In service per the tivo.com website. Through 8/27.

The link now says $449.Two-tuner Edge for Antenna with All-In service being sold by Channel Master on Amazon for $299.
TiVo Edge Over-The-Air (OTA) DVR - Digital Recorder for TV Antennas (Subscription-Free) - Records Two Programs at Once with Enough Storage Space for Multiple TV Series and Movies
Not in your case. With a transfer you would pay $400 for the Edge and $100 to transfer, that is $500. But they deactivate your Roamios so they become basically worthless. If you buy one of these it would cost $600. But you could sell your lifetime Roamios for $150-200+ each depending on model. So your net out of pocket would be $400-450 vs $500 with the transfer deal. Yeah you have the hassle of selling the Roamios but can do at your leisure plus have time to transfer your recordings to the new Edge.I have not noticed any either... Yeah, they jacked up the price. At Amazon. But you can still get direct from them at their website for $349. Keep in mind this is the 500GB two tuner model, was never sold direct from Tivo in the US. It's basically $100 off retail if you pay $349.The link now says $449.
Yes.. that totally makes sense... sometimes the easiest route is not always the bestNot in your case. With a transfer you would pay $400 for the Edge and $100 to transfer, that is $500. I would activate the unit on-line with monthly. Then call and ask. If they say no, just cancel the subscription. If they don't check, it might work.Hi, Has anyone had any success in getting the discounted lifetime applied to a used unit purchased on ebay that does not have lifetime, I have an roamio lifetime that took a power hit had has several issues, HDMI doesn't work on the AV out, and Ethernet doesn't work only wireless. I have an roamio I bought off ebay a while ago and would like to activate lifetime at 199 it so i can get hdmi back.
While I would have preferred to see a lifetime transfer option with a more aggressive pricing for those eligible customers, from the TiVo perspective, NOT offering a lifetime transfer can only increase the number of TiVo subscribers on the books, and that makes TiVo look like a more successful company. One way to interpret that is that means the new TiVo owners are currently trying to pump the subscriber numbers rather than keeping their existing older tech (S2, S3, Premier, Roamio?) customers in the fold and willing to upgrade by offering incentives to migrate to newer tech. Of course it could also be that they are simply trying to make as much money as possible while they still can in the consumer market segment.I have not noticed any either... The revenue (for lifetime) is one time (but able to be taken out by the new owners). Perhaps the new owners are preparing for the spin-out of the hardware unit? A larger number of subscribers makes the unit potentially more appealing some purchaser. In other words, they're trying to maximize either profits or customers or both?
Nope, you're correct.I'm not seeing the Edge as much of an improvement. Or maybe I just don't understand the point of it.
