New series on Cinemax. Really dug the episode. Hoping it can keep it up. It is a tad comedic british delta force type show. Not too campy but plently of action and blood. Tons of blood. Good stuff with lots of tension.

I don't understand about the...British?...woman at the hotel bar. Was she just some random person or did he target her for a reason? How was it that she managed to avoid the round-up?

Yeah. Have to wait till episode 2 to figure that out.

Also thought it was so obvious that one guy was going to be IN on the ambush. How can these super Ops not see it. :)
After reading this I found the show via alternate means. First episode looks pretty good.

The second series is supposed to start airing in the U.K. next week.

The show on Cinemax is the second series (or as we call it in the U.S., season). The first was a six episode run on England's Sky1, and to my knowledge, has not been shown in the U.S. The main character was the captured spy in this episode, but since the actor is busy filming The Hobbit, he could not continue his leading role. So the two male leads are new characters. What some may find amusing, and others disconcerting, the American character is played by an Australian actor, and the British agent is played by an American actor.

Thanks for the heads up! I saw the first episode on Cinemax, never knowing it was actually the second season. Weird that Cinemax did not show the first season.

I just grabbed the first season to watch now.
When I searched for "Strike Back" in my Tivo, nothing came up. Couldn't figure out why. Did Cinemax only air it in certain areas? Surely they would have aired it in Los Angeles.
I guess I wait for Netflix.

My guide says that the first episode will be re-aired Tuesday at 11:35P on MAX and Friday at 9PM on MoreMax.
Well, having watched the first season, I think I can guess why it was not shown in the US. I guess technically this is not a spoiler since it is from season 1, but I will hide it anyway:

The US administration and intelligence agencies looks really bad, cold-blooded killers who care about nothing but their image. Willing to kill British citizens to cover up things, and make deals with evil warlords to gain political advantage.

I suppose that might not be the reason, either. It could just be that the first season was somewhat incoherent (IMO), and they wanted to do a reboot for season 2. I'm still not sure if the same big-bad from season 1 is supposed to still be around in season 2, or if season 2 is a reboot for the big-bad.
Watched 1st episode of Season 1. Season 2 first episode is MUCH better.
