Streambaby vs. Apple TV

So I just discovered the greatness that is Streambaby and for one of my TiVos (Premiere - wired networking) it'll do the trick. What I'm curious about is how it compares speed wise in comparison with the Apple TV, particularly when it comes to converting mp4 files (I know Apple TV doesn't deal with the conversion, although I'm not certain if Streambaby does).
