So I noticed this week when watching a recording of Stumptown on ABC (Recorded on HD channel on Fios) that it didn't look right. I looked at the recording and it definitely said SD. I don't know if this is a Fios problem, a Tivo problem, a Philadelphia ABC problem or what. But googling and searching Twitter I couldn't find anyone with the same problem.
I looked forward in the guide and all other shows on that channel coming up are listed as HD but next week's Stumptown also says SD.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?

For comparison I'm attaching a picture of the show before Stumptown which clearly shows it's in HD (as do all the other prime time shows on that network)...

Two things. I watched the first episode of Stumptown and it looked like HD. Second, ABC has the lowest bit rate of any HD channel I receive. Third, the absence of an explicit HD in the metadata makes TE4 say SD. I get WPVI on my cable feed in SD only. They have dead air on my HD channel. On my SD channel, there is no SD in the metadata. There is no HD in the guide for the HD channel. If you have kmttg or pyTiVo, it can display the file size or bit rate. On my cable feed all SD channels are 4x3, so it's easy to tell.

Your TV should have some kind of info screen that tells you about the source it's playing. Try calling that up when you're watching Stumptown...

[edit] I just checked last week's Stumptown. In the description in Now Playing, it said SD. But hitting TiVo's "Info" while playing showed 720p, as did the TV's "Display." So it looks like Joe has it right...it's probably just a glitch due to missing data.

Stumptown is showing as HD for me (and definitely is when I watch it), but I am seeing a lot of “SD” labels on stuff that is almost certainly hd....I’ve never noticed that until this week, along with like 52 other weird guide things going on...

The upcoming episode (S1 E12) of Stumptown in my TE3 guide on 6ABC (FiOS ch. 506) has neither HD or SD. Other shows have HD.

How big is last week's episode (S1 E11) of Stumptown? Mine is 2.49 GB (720p).

I've seen that on shows for awhile, I just ignore it because it's wrong.

If TiVo ever does another release, TE3 or TE4, I wonder if the bugs fixed will fit on one page. I wonder of the bugs not fixed will fit on one page. System Information still shows "Paired: No" for a paired cable card. :(
