We had a really bad storm Saturday night that appears to have only taken out my high-def channels. I called Charter and they are dispatching a tech who will arrive tomorrow afternoon, but just wanted to see if anyone has ever encountered something like this. The Tivo still recognizes both cable cards, but the high-def channels will not work.

Sounds like they lost authorization/pairing. You should be able to fix over the phone, but if you got a guy coming tomorrow you might as well wait for him.

In the mean time, I would try restarting tivo (pull plug, wait, replug) to see if that helps.

I would also look at the cablecard diagnostic screens to see if the pairing/authorization look ok.

I've lost only my HD channels maybe three times now with Charter. It wasn't storm related as far as I know however. Analog and other digital channels would be fine. I'd call and of course they wouldn't know about any problem but when I checked later (once it wasn't until the next day) they were back working again. Luckily, I haven't had to have someone come out yet.

I tried reauthorization over the phone but they insisted that a technician had to do that; there was no one on the phone I could talk to to reauthorize the cards. I tried restarting Tivo as well. Maybe the reauthorization when the tech gets here will work. Thanks.
