Start of scheduled TiVo recording interrupts recording being watched

While I am watching a recorded program, my watching is interrupted by a scheduled recording. For example, I was watching a previously recorded New England Patriots game on my TiVo Bolt+ is suddenly switched to the start of a new recording of a new program that had been previously scheduled to be recorded. I then have to scramble to grab the TiVo remote to get back to the New England Patriots game. Drives me crazy. Given that the TiVo Bolt+ can record 6 programs at the same time, why can't the TiVo Bolt+ just record a new program without interrupting something that had already been recorded and that I was watching?

That is very interesting behavior. I have never seen this behavior when watching a recorded show, only when watching live TV. Did you start watching from the recording, or did you start watching a program on live TV that was being recorded?
It has gotten worse. I was watching a Blu-ray movie using my opp Blu-ray player and suddenly the Denon AVR switched to the TiVo at the start of new recording. This morning I turned off HDMI CEC on the TiVo and the Denon AVR to see if that will help.
