I enjoyed the first few episodes, as they set the plot up, set the characters, even if they were a bit slow. But now that things are hopping along (even if oddly enough almost nothing actually happened this episode to advance the plot) - I'm really enjoying it even more.

Although, poor Hugh... I would have really enjoyed Elnor officially pledging his sword to Hugh's cause and ripping through an entire Borg cube worth of Tal Shiar, but it just wasn't meant to be. Picard sure seems to be leaving a wider trail of bodies behind him on ST: P than he ever did on ST:TNG.

But my real question... is how, in the space of entire Borg cube, did Elnor happen to hide in a room containing a Fenris SoS marker (which.. I presume Picard dropped at some point?). Or was it someone else's Fenris marker? (meaning Picard still has his?)

He got lucky, just like Picard and Soji somehow stepped through a portal over 40,000 light years and just happened to wind up right in front of the daughter of Riker and Troi.

Small universe after all huh?

Another 3d printer as a replicator in this episode, and the Romulan baddie was playing with a 3d printed fidget cube too :D

Are the Romulans really the bad guys? Aren't they like Sarah Connor trying to prevent Judgment Day and the machines from killing everyone?
I'm sure that's the Zhat Vash's reason.
Whether or not it's reality is another matter.

Granted it's fan service but I also enjoyed the check in with Riker and Troi and Picard having a more relaxed attitude around them.

I'm really loving Peyton List as Narissa.
So evil.

Come on, was Rios really thinking that Raffi was the one with a tracker?
(Yes, it could very well have been a ploy.)

Does the EMH remember Jurati killing Maddox?

Goodbye Hugh.

And whatever happened to the Emergency Psychiatric Hologram (Maybe just a flavor of the EMH? I was never sure if they were the same or not) - that kept popping up every time she was about to break down in earlier episodes? Because in the last two episodes she really could have used one...

I mean, even Microsoft Clippy could have popped up and said "It looks like you're about to inject yourself with a heavy metal which will likely kill you - would you like to lie down first?"

Well, it made sense (she was the only one who went off on her own on the Cube, and thus had the opportunity to be tagged; why would he realize the tracker had been there since Earth?)...

I guess the real question is why he assumed whoever had the tracker KNEW they had the tracker?

When the Vulcan security officer did the mind meld with Jurati was she just planting fake images in Jurati's head so she would do her bidding or is the Vulcan from the future and has seen the world explode?
Or is she a Romulan intelligence officer disguised as a Vulcan showing something from Romulan history which accounts for the extreme Romulan prejudice against synthetics.

(yes I know that there is not a clear history of Romulans being able to do mind melds but I think the idea of Romulan intelligence officer infiltrating the Federation security organisation at the highest level fits in with the way the current story arc has been set up)

It was foreshadowed in episode 2 where we knew the Oh (Security Officer) was working with the Tal Shiar - at the end she had a quick conversation with Rizzo. And we know the Romulans somehow had synths destroy something in the past hence wanting to find out where Maddox worked and possibly created more of them.

We also know from TOS that the Vulcans and Romulans had a shared past, so it's no surprise that Oh could very well do a mind meld (though I'm not sure if it was explained how they separated).

This episode iwas all fan service, but it simultaneously was done to move the plot - Soji was just rescued, but who is her rescuer? And what better way to do it than Troi. Kill two birds with one stone.

Picard is all fan service - because CBS knows there are plenty of people still tied to the old universe. What better way to placate them than by having a TV series continue from that history, while still maintaining the "new history" done by the ST reboot movies for younger fans who never grew up with TNG, VOY or DS9. And I admit it, CBS did a damn fine job of it - knowing how to push the nostalgia buttons. CBS has Discovery to the new history fans, after all. A way better way to sunset than say, ST: Generations did to TOS.

If you suspect someone on your ship has a tracker, why not just find out who it is? It's a *tracker*. It can be tracked.
Not necessarily. Let's say the tracker works through quantum entanglement. In which case, it would be utterly untraceable except by the people who have the other part of it.

Of course, this being Star Trek, they would say "We reversed the polarity of the isopalavial interface." But the general principal would be the same. ;)

So Narissa is confirmed (self-admited) Zhat Vash. That presumes that Narek is too. And now Oh is at the very least sympathetic to the Zhat Vash (if she isn't one herself), since she was the one that gave Agnes the blue crunchy bit and Narek knows how to track that.

Not sure what Oh showed Agnes, but if I had to guess I'd say "proof that synths are dangerous and must be eradicated".

I did like that Agnes took things into her own hands with the hypo. Normally I'd say "moron knows nothing of medicine and it will probably kill them", but she does and knew exactly what she was doing, and probably wasn't afraid to die. So, did that disable the tracker, or is it "off" when she's in the coma?

I didn't appreciate the Fenris thingy being in the ONE place that Elnor was hiding. If he'd ripped it off Hugh's dead body, I'd have been fine with it. But just "hanging around"? Please...

If you go through it frame by frame, it's two mixed scenes. One is the complete destruction of (presumably) Earth. One is a group of Romulens in a circle, some green goo getting on their faces, madness, and suicide by phaser.

* One frame you can mostly see North America through the clouds. The rest of the frames could well be any other blue-green Earth-like planet having a bad day.
