I'm a "snowbird" in Florida with Spectrum/Britehouse service currently with two cablecards/TAs in service. In preparation for going north and restarting service in Kentucky I'm told that Spectrum no longer issues cablecards. I closed my account when I came south and according to them I can't get them back (but if I'd held on to them that would apparently not be a problem). Anyone know more about this? With the current rash of deregulation has the FCC requirements been relaxed enough to allow them to not provide them?
UPDATE: OK, so as I was typing this I was on hold with Spectrum and ended up with their "retention" department somehow. She said that she sees nothing that says they no longer support/issue cable cards and that she can send them and that, when I'm ready to restart service to call her department directly. This is almost comical.
