Sort Tivo Suggestions according to date

Agree 100%! It would be helpful; in fact, they should show up in folders, too, if the user wants it!

If you turn off Groups in your NPL (press 2 on your remote), the Suggestions will sort with the rest of your recordings (either alphabetical or by date). If Groups are on, your Suggestions folder should be sorted by date descending (at least, mine are).

Thanks for the ideas sailor! I tried variations of your recommendations:
1. I started with the groups turned off, but turned them back on, and then checked suggestions, and they are still random (to my eye. I'm sure TiVo has a reason)
2. Then, I returned to NPL, turned groups off, and sorted alphabetically. No change in suggestions. Still random.
3. Returned to NPL, groups still off, sort by date. Which is where I started.
Nope, still random in Suggestions.
It was worth a try though. Thanks.

That's weird ... I checked all three of my TiVos and the Suggestions on all of them (Groups on) are sorted by date descending.

That's really, really bizarre - with groups on Suggestions are always reverse date order (newest at the top of the group). With groups off when you sort by date, Suggestions are reverse date order - listed after the user requested recordings. If you sort by alpha they're alphabetical mixed with the user recordings. I don't think I've ever seen something else.

Well, I apologize for posting as a suggestion instead of for help! In fact, I'll ask the moderator to move this thread to Tivo Help Center. I'm wondering if there's an old backdoor code that might fix this on my apparently unique TiVo,
After last weekend, I thought perhaps it would sort itself out. But this is the date order (All August, natch)

Odd. That's the kind of scramble I was used to seeing from my series 1 when I used the SORT code and sorted by expiration date. (The suggestions algorithm seems to pick expiration dates based on something; probably a weighting system. They don't stick to the normal 48 hour expiration period that normal recordings have)megory said:

Jonathan, when you talk about expiration dates, I'm not sure we're on the same page. All is fine with my Now Playing List.
Some have suggested that the organization of the NPL affects the sorting of the Suggestions..
The apparently unique peculiarity of my Suggestions is there is no discernible pattern on mine.

Okay, this might be a dumb question, but are you talking about the suggestions under "Find Programs" or the Suggestions in the now playing list? Because my suggestions under "Find Programs" works as you described, haphazardly, but the other suggestions folder is sorted by date.megory said:

Hmm. Ya got me here. AFAICR, I've never seen a suggestions list in my NPL. Should there be one? What would it do if I did have one? Now I'm really curious!
The only Suggestions List I know of, is TiVo Suggestions as a sub category of Find Programs.

If you want your TiVo(s) to automatically record the TiVo Suggestions, you need to be sure you have it turned on:megory said:
Messages & Settings > Settings > Recording > TiVo Suggestions > Yes, record when there's space
Note if your SPs keep your NPL full, then no Suggestions will be recorded, as a TiVo Suggestion never overrides a recording that you requested, whether manual or by SP, and will never delete a recording from your NPL to make room for a Suggestion, unless it's in your Recently Deleted folder.

But I'll just let those who respond to his other thread explain the difference further between TiVo Suggestion under Find Programs, and TiVo Suggestions under the NPL, since he must not want it discussed in this thread.
