So was the hit the actual dude Clay hired or someone else?

I got the impression from the Mexican dude Clay arranged it with that the abduction was part of the hit.

I can't see a way for Clay to live much longer.

Jax, Gemma, Opie or possibly even Unser?

Do you Opie will get in the way of Jax getting out of SAMCRO? The scene between those two at the hospital was very passive-aggressive. Also, Tara's sarcastic happy family speech really hit home.

I'm beginning to think they're headed for the kind of major shake-up that I've been wondering how they can avoid. Clay dead, Jax in charge.

I didn't WANT them to, I just assumed they would. Because that's what TV shows generally do...avoid major shake-ups (unless they get desperate or a lead actor gets contract-uppity). Usually, they pretend that something major is happening, but in the end nothing really changes (e.g., see the end of just about any Burn Notice season).

But it's starting to look like SoA is really going there. And that's a good thing. Surprising, but good.

The attempting abducters spoke Spanish but sure as heck looked white. I didn't recognize either one. I'm not sure they were connected to the hitman Clay paid off, but I also can't figure how else they play in.

Clay has plenty of people who look ready to kill him, and that's before Opie finds out Clay killed Piney. Clay must be going nutso to beat up Gemma like that. He has to know Jax is going to be out for his ass now.

Whew. This was an excellent episode.

I really thought Gemma wanted Tara out as well. Guess not. If Clay survive this, it will officially jump the shark.

I always figured at some point Jax would be in charge and try to run things the way he thought his dad would have run things. Of course that wouldn't go as planned.

This season has all the look and feel as a final season but I'm glad it's not. Sutter doesn't disappoint.

I thought one of them WAS the hitman Clay paid...

I thought it was a ruse in order to make them believe it was the Lobos.

Hellboy has to die!, but I love to hate his character...

I don't know if the hitman brought in others once he found out Jax was going to be there or if that was the original plan. It must have been the original plan, the hitman wouldn't have had time to assemble a crew on that short of notice.

I don't know the going price for hits but $25K seems cheap.

That was some weird sort of hit. A hit would have just been: Pull up to Tara next to the parked car, point pistol and shoot. That was something else.

Didn't Clay say something like don't hurt her face? But then he was mad they hurt her hand? Or am I confusing things... ?

Gemma wants Jax to kill Clay...at least that's what she told Unser there at the end. So I guess she's either gonna tell Jax that Clay set up the hit on Tara or that Clay killed Piney? Or maybe tell him both things and make sure he's well and truly dead?

Well, she told Unser she wanted "a Son" to kill Clay. Jax is certainly a candidate, but so is, well, just about everybody else.
