Recently, I’ve noticed that once in a while one of my recordings won’t play. Instead I’m presented with a black screen and the time code doesn’t advance. This occurs on the host (Romio Pro) as well as both of my Mini’s. Switching to live TV and back doesn’t work. The interesting part is that the recording plays perfectly through the TiVo app on my iPad. Also, if If I use the scrubber to go past the first minute or so, it plays perfectly on all of my TiVo’s. I’m wondering if this could somehow be related to the pre-roll ads going wrong?

Are you on Hydra/TE4/v21? It may have not downloaded the ads.

Try some Tivo Service connections.
