So What are the Can't Miss Shows This Season?

I know several pilots have been leaked. I haven't seen any of them except Pushing Daisies and Carpoolers. So what are shaping up to be the best shows this coming season?

Chuck on NBC has the potential to be quite good, as does Journeyman (haven't seen that yet).

The Big Bang Theory on CBS had a great pilot, but be warned: there's a laugh track. And it's annoying.

Cane is my must-see show of the fall behind Pushing Daisies. It helps that I love Jimmy Smits back from his West Wing days, but it's extremely well done. This, of course, means it'll get cancelled after two weeks.

I've heard good things about Dirty Sexy Money on ABC as well but haven't seen the pilot.

And then there's the guilty pleasures: Survivor China (very excited for this one) and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (very curious to see how it compares to the British version).
DTV has some previews in their "Star" area. Chuck did look pretty good. I wasn't getting good vibes from Journeyman. They are offering a sneak of Big Bang but it isn't on til the 22nd. Bionic Woman actually looked pretty good. Life didn't catch me. Moonlight looked interesting. I thought I would try out Kid Nation and maybe Survivor China.
From what I've read Chuck seems to be the clear leader, Carpoolers is suppose to be a big bore. Journeyman is suppose to be real hard to follow, Bionic Woman has too many holes in the plot.
Cane has too many plot lines and we have to put up with more over the top souther accents.
The Reaper - The acting and Cast is Superb and the show is funny, but the show boders on Irreverence and a bit absurd.
Samantha Who? - Christina Applegate is Hilarious as Sam. but the show is up against stiff competition. (Heros and 24 in the winter)
K-Ville - The acting is off and the show never clicks.
Pushing Daisies - Vibrant Colors, Execellent Performances, whats not to like, but also up in a tough time slot, (Back to You and Kid Nation)
well thats all I'll do for now.
I haven't heard of The Reaper. What's the plot for it?

It's actually called Reaper. It's a new show on The CW that centers around a kid whose parents have basically let him slide in everything his whole life while they put tremendous pressure on his brother.

Turns out it was because they sold his soul to the devil before he was born to save his ill father. It follows the kid as he goes around on his new assignment for the devil: finding escaped souls and returning them to hell.

Hated the pilot, but we'll see.
If Chuck becomes a huge hit I will eat my toenails.
Private Practice is probably must-see for the Grey's Anatomy people. My girlfriend is all over it.
There's not a whole lot that looks real exciting to me, I've set up SPs for K-Ville, Chuck and Cane.
Kaley Cuoco on Big Bang Theory is certainly still smoking hot...but I think it runs against Chuck.

I think you might want to make sure that your nails are trimmed really short on Monday...

I REALLY liked the pilot episode, and seems like most people here agree.

I guess it remains to be seen how the rest of the world (aka the ones that really matter :)) react.
Thats interesting... I for one thought the Chuck pilot was way overrated.
 x 3 for Chuck. It was way better than I had expected. Not the greatest show ever, but very entertaining, and so far looking like it might turn into a hit.

Journeyman was hard to follow (I saw the pilot episode on free Blockbuster rental disc) and just didn't hold my interest. Been there, done that with a show called Quantum Leap. Even if it wasn't similar to that, it just wasn't as easy to tell what was going on and I'm not in the mood to start up a show that will be too complicated to keep track of.

Life seems like maybe, just maybe, it could be interesting. Maybe. Or maybe it'll be gone before anyone can watch more than the premiere episode.

Reaper actually does look interesting to me, but low priority, i.e., recorded on my MCE box whenever it isn't doing anything else. Kevin Smith directs so it could be funny.

Bionic Woman is old concept reborn. Probably will suck once it starts, but I'll give it a go and see what they've done with it.

Cane - bleh. I like Jimmy Smits, but not gonna fall for a Falcon Crest/Dynasty/Dallas type show.

Dirty Sexy Money has Peter Krause (a favorite since he was in Sportsnight) so I'll give it a go.

Big Shots has several favorites in it, so again, I'll give it a go.

Pushing Daisies may get old quickly, but I'll watch at least the first few episodes.

K'Ville probably won't make it to 3 episodes, but I'll give it a try.

Big Bang Theory will be filler and low on the priority scale for me.

Wife mentions Moonlight, but not really something I want to see.

Heroes is the big returning series for me.

Survivor China could be fun, but will have to see how it goes too.

I LOVED the pilot for Chuck.
I think you are going to have to eat your toenails also.

Bionic Woman was OK - has potential.

Life grew on me.

Journeyman was god awful.
my biggest problem so far is conflicts (like usual)

This Wednesday, three shows I want to watch premier. All in the same time slot.

Kitchen Nightmares (FOX)
Gossip Girl (CW)
Bionic Woman (NBC)

All are in the same time slot (8:00 PM). Looks like Bionic Woman is getting repurposed on SciFi, so I can catch it with an ARWL. It appears that Gossip Girl *may* repeat on Sundays At least the Pilot will be. We'll see about future episodes. Kitchen Nightmares doesn't repeat any place else, it seems, so it gets the highest priority for now.
I really liked the Chuck pilot. It reminded me a lot of the first season of Alias.

That's the vibe I'd give it. Along with a little of Jake 2.0 (former UPN series)

According to the Futon Critic, they will always do the repeat on Sundays.

For me, there are so many new shows that I'll be taping. I watched that NBC preview show and all the new dramas looked so good I'll be recording them.

Some of the ones I'm looking forward to are
Chuck
Journeyman
Bionic Women
Private Practice
Reaper
Pushing Daisies
I'm going to try Kid Nation after all the promos during football yesterday
Dirty Sexy Money
Life
Big Shots

The only things I've added as and SP already are:

Chuck. Shaky pilot but it might just work, plus the girl spy is pretty and Adam Baldwin is always funny.

Journeyman was a no go till the last 5 minutes. The ending was so good, I added it.

Life has potential.

BW is a maybe. It has to improve but I have serious problems with the first BW as the focus of the new BW. That's gonna get old quick.

Cane, just for Hector and Jimmy. Trying a bit hard to be Dynasty in Miami but I'm giving it a shot.

Dirty Sexy Money is tempting but I have to see it first.

Pushing Daisey's if only for Christen Chenowith.

Big Shots is on cause I like the premise. Execution is key

Kid Nation sounds like it could be good but it has just as good a chance to be dreadful like Pirate Master.

I'll watch Private Practice just to see Kate in HD. Oh, those eyebrows!
