SNL removed from program guide?

I was sitting here waiting for SNL to come on, and my TiVo never changed channels. Recording History says "The program was not recorded because it was no longer in the program guide" for Comcast Sunnyvale, but my east coast friends say it was a new episode. Anyone know what happened?

[Edit]: Changing channels to KNTVDT, the guide data shows Saturday Night Live. So confused!

According to the guide, it was a repeat of Sep. 24th's episode. Also, Seth Meyers was at a college football game tonight, where he gave a brief interview, mentioning that he usually couldn't attend because he had to work Saturdays, but this week "the schedule worked out".

Perhaps your east coast friends just thought it was new because they missed it the first time?
If it were a repeat, wouldn't the Recording History have said that instead of "not in the program guide"?

I'm assuming you have a First Run Only season pass -- what often happens with "SNL" is that, when the program guide information comes out two weeks in advance, it has "generic" data listed, which gets treated as a first-run show. Once the actual information gets filled in, and the guide data shows it was a repeat. This means there's no longer something matching the First Run Only season pass in the program guide, and thus you get the "no longer in the program guide" error in the Recording History.

Yes, the error message could be less obtuse, but that's how it happens.

(If the guide data had shown "SNL" as being a repeat for the entire two-week period, you wouldn't see it listed in Recording History at all with a First Run Only season pass, because it would never matched the season pass and therefore would never have been scheduled to record.)

Yeah, annoying error message.. but one of the more minor things that could greatly improve Tivos.. (and I say that as a huge Tivo fan.)

That's not what I typically see, in those cases the recording history says something like "This program was not recorded because someone in your household modified the season pass, wishlist or autorecording that scheduled it"
