The host I was not familiar with, but I did see the Golden Globes when he didn't have sound when accepting his award via Zoom. That was a shame.

He was pretty good in the monologue. And I suppose some of his skits were worthy of his skills. Others, not so much.

I'm curious why if Colin though he looked like the congressman he didn't play the man. Colin is one of the head writers, after all.

St. Vincent I didn't know. Rhonda Vincent I would have watched. Also Don McLean. I gave her five seconds and that was enough. The second time it looked more likely I would like the song. Yes, this one sounded better. But not for long.

As usual, there was music I liked. Kaluuya played stand-up bass. Cool, man, cool. Meow!

I wonder who played the old lady on "Weekend Update"? I kept hoping to see her eyes. I would have guessed Melissa (who I don't think did anything else) or Heidi (who had plenty to do) but I don't think it was Kate.

There were way too many social events at someone's house. Also, Kate looked like Bart Simpson in that one sketch.

It was Heidi.

I was also curious why Colin Jost didn't play Matt "Giggity Giggity" Gaetz!

Chris Redd was hi-larious as Lil' Nas X!

OMG-the "What would it take?" sketch with Kaluuya as a doctor and all his relatives who wouldn't take the vaccine- "I don't get sick because I sleep with my socks on!" Almost too true to laugh at!

He's really funny-his monologue was hilarious-"I'm black and I'm British-basically, I am what the royal family worried the baby would look like" BA HA HA! He needs a comedic vehicle!

I thought the concept of this sketch was great, but the execution was really rough. It could have used a couple more rewrites to make it more than just the host asking the contestants if they'll take the vaccine and the contestants saying no.

I've already mentioned I have trouble telling them apart.
OK. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You said you wondered who played that role. I answered your query. If there was previously-disclosed information I should have taken into account before answering your question, I was not aware of that.

I actually liked St. Vincent's first song. Her second song, not so much. She seemed weird so I doubt if I'll follow up on her career.

As pointed out earlier, some of the skits were funny.

I thought the host's monologue was really funny. I had never heard of the actor, but then he mentioned he was in the movie about the Black Panthers of the 1960s and played Fred Hampton, so I had seen him (forget the name of the movie and too lazy to look it up).

Does Jost ever do any skits? I only remember him doing WU.

I liked the "game show" where the "host" asked his various relatives about getting the vaccine and I guess it played up the mistrust the community has with taking government sanctioned vaccines. I do hope that people watching realized how kinda silly that is.

I think St Vincent is interesting to watch, but not quite sure of her musical talent. I kinda liked the second song better than the first, and watched both. At least it wasn't any kind of hip hop which was refreshing. At least she plays an instrument and is not some pretty face put up there to appeal to teeny boppers. She kind of reminded me of Florence + The Machine.

And yes, I didn't expect Harley to like her and there probably hasn't been a musical act in the last 30 years that he's liked :)

I didn't mean anything by it. I just said that because when I think it's Melissa, it's probably Heidi.

I remember him playing one of the presdential candidates.

There have been plenty of people in the last 30 years. Harry Connick Jr. became well known because of "When Harry Met Sally" in 1989. Michael Buble is even more recent. There's also Steve Tyrell. Rod Stewart, Lady Gaga, Norah Jones and Linda Ronstadt are known for other musical styles but they have performed that kind of music. And Diana Krall. Tony Bennett was performing until recently.

And there have been plenty of good country acts in that time too. Willie Nelson can do anything and I'll like it. Kacey Musgraves is one of the few still performing that I like. I even liked the Billy Ray Cyrus part of "Old Town Road" but then Lil Nas X and his backup musicians came along and absolutely wrecked it.

He's a writer, so it's rare for him to be in skits, but it has happened a few times. He's impersonated Pete Buttigieg and John Kasich in various Presidential skits.
Yeah, then it's curious why he wasn't in the skit. Especially if he made the joke about him looking like him during WU. Then again, being in the skit would have ruined that joke!
