I dunno, it was OK I guess. Brightest spots of the night for me: Daniel's monologue, You Can Do Anything, Delaware Fellas, Hogwarts, WU and Exit Poll Questions.

Mmmmmm wait a second, that list belies the fact I enjoyed a pretty good portion of the show, hunh, /me shrugs.

I gotta say the oddest sketch of the night, The Jay Pharoah Show. Ok, so are they blatantly admitting he is a one (4) trick pony? Yes, he does those impressions amazingly well, but as of yet, I don't think we've ever see him do anything else.

I thought this too.

I liked Casey Anthony's dog.
Lana Del Ray's video for her first song tonight ("Video Games") is mesmerizing. As usual for SNL appearances, not as good live. She looked fantastic, though.

IMO she was worse than "not as good as the video".
She looked painfully uncomfortable and sounded dreadful.
Whatever forces were employed to get her this gig before her first album was even released need to reevaluate. While she has the Interscope machine behind her, she is financed through family money and has largely been thrown out to the public wham bam prepackaged. Most music fans I know have been wondering where she came from and why the world is suddenly determined to "make her happen." She's also on the cover of Billboard this month- nice gigs for an unproven unknown.
IMO she does not appear to be ready for all of this.
Do they still have writers? All the recent shows (like the last ten or fifteen years) could have been improvised by a group of humor impaired adolescents.

I keep watching because it's what I've done since very first SNL. I'm nothing if not a creature of habit.

Isn't the cover of Billboard a paid advertisement? (I used to subscribe to a TV trade magazine where that was the case, and for some reason I thought Billboard was the same way.)

The "X27B Theater" sketch had the kind of premise that was right up my alley, but something about the execution seemed "off" -- almost seemed like the technical crew was having problems with the cues for the cuts to the audience laughing. Maybe they should have done it as if it were a 2112 TV show rather than a stage production.

I thought it was a skit.
The singer seemed really awkward, she didn't belong in front of an audience. No real highlights, but the future show and the Hogwarts were kinda funny.
The joke in Weekend Update about the beer for dogs cracked me up.

Me too. Because it was so dead-on accurate!
Wow, she hasn't aged a bit!

I liked it better when I was at Disney at it was called the Carousel of Progress :p
Wow..what a horrible horrible "singer"!
I agree, I had no idea who it was but decided to give it a shot, quickly reached for the FFW button.

I liked Headz Up from World-Tel - so true.

The Hogwarts sketch fell flat - only one gag there and we got it the first time. Although you Wiig-haters have to admit that some of her pronunciations were pretty funny.
