Smallville Fans - Help me out!

I was a big fan of Smallville in the early seasons (except for Lana Lang, but that's a different thread). However, as the series kept going and going, I began to grow tired of it. I wanted to watch to the end to see how it all wrapped up, but every season they kept claiming would be their last, and then they'd renew it again. Finally, at the beginning of Season 8, I just couldn't keep up any longer. I saved a bunch of episodes, but eventually decided not to bother trying to catch up.

Now that the show is ending, I'd like to see how it wraps up, but don't want to be completely lost. At the same time, I don't want to go back and watch three seasons worth of episodes to figure out what's going on. So I'm calling on Smallville fans to point me to the 10-15 crucial episodes over seasons 8-10 that I should watch in order to have a better idea of what's happened before watching the finale.

Thanks in advance

I gave up after how easily Clark defeated some enemies.
Metallo - The fight was less than 10 seconds long. Metallo is a bad ass and couldve been a seasonal arc.

Doomsday - After a season of setup and anticipation, Clark can just easily grab him and jump into a deep mine and trap him there? That's it? 10 second battle?
Just watch the finale. You haven't missed much. No point in doing extensive homework.
I suspect there will be a longer-than-usual, valedictory "Previously On" segment that will tell you most of what you need to know...
I quit watching the show a couple seasons ago. I also hated Lana Lang. When I heard she died, I was so happy.

I started watching the show at the start of this last season. I haven't been that impressed with the show and am ready for it to be over.

Just some stuff I've gathered from this last season.
All I can take from this last season is that Clark and Lois are getting married. They started a watchtower, which is kind like a Justice League or something maybe? Green Arrow seems to be in the show a lot. There were some clones made of Lex Luthor in a past season. I think there is one left and he seems to age very quickly. I think the guy that played Lex in the past seasons will be back in the finale. I saw Chloe on an episode or two this season, but she isn't on every one. Clark just started wearing glasses and acting clumsy as his Clark Kent disguise.
Ive enjoyed the last couple of seasons but
the DoomsDay pay off was definitely... odd.
I almost gave up at that point but I stuck it out.
I've been sticking with it but I have no hope for a reasonable explanation of why the multitudes of people who knew Clark for years in Smallville (sans glasses) aren't going to recognize him as Supes.

A majority of the people back in Smallville won't even see him in his new glasses and slouching so they wouldn't be fooled by that.
I agree, just watch the finale and know that
Lois knows about Clark's powers and they are engaged and Darkseid is trying to invade Earth.

This is a pretty good thread on a different forum where a similar question was asked. The first responder gave a pretty decent recap. Naturally, spoilers abound as he basically summarizes the major plot points of the series (or, at least, what you need to know going into the finale).

Not me! I gave up on this show years ago, when he couldn't fly and didn't have the cape. Er, he IS flying by now, isn't he?

;) :) :D

Given the producers' track record, I'm guessing Clark will put on the suit and fly in the last three seconds of the series finale tomorrow.

Thanks, Dan. After reading that, I think I'll just watch the finale (or maybe see if my TiVo has a couple previous episodes saved as well).
I've been watching all along but always feel like I've missed a season or two. All these new characters (apparently not really new, but I stopped reading the comics when I was 15-16 and did not keep up).
