Right now I'm using the factory remote with my Elite, and the TV power works fine but I can't get the volume and mute buttons for my Samsung HTS to work. The codes supplied by the TiVo don't do jack, so here's my question. With this "learned" ability for volume, mute etc from existing remotes, does this mean I should be able to get my Samsung HTS to work with a slide remote when I get one ?One remote does it all: Learns commands for power, input, volume and mute directly from the remote controls of your TV and receiver
Seems to have worked but the response time seems slower than that when the factory remote is used for the HTS. Grant it it's not a big deal since volume and mute will rarely be used but still.Your Elite remote has learning capabilities too....

No because everything else registers fine between it and the TiVo, I'll reset it later and test it on the TV again but I don't recall the delay being on anything but the HTS.Maybe you have a defective Glo Remote.
I tried relearning, and same thing... here's the kicker though. The mute button offers an instant reaction to the button press so it seems like it's just a volume thing. You might want to try relearning, but holding the source remote buttons a little longer, or shorter, when doing the learn. I use to use a Glo remote at one point and had a similar issue and after playing with it I got it to work a lot better.

It's not a big deal, just something I was curious about... I rarely adjust the volume any way unless the picture kicks it up with some music or something. It could be that the repeat timer on your original remote is simply faster then the TiVo remote. If this is a big deal then you may want to consider getting a universal remote, like a Harmony, that allows you to set those types of parameters.
