Over the past year or so I've had 6 Mini's fail. Four of them would just do the Tivo logo/reboot dance endlessly, one lost it's Ethernet port and the other lost its HDMI port. The four "loopers" went in the trash after trying all the suggestions in this forum to no avail. The one with the bad Ethernet port would boot so I thought about using a MoCA adapter but those cost more than a used mini from ebay so that went in the trash too. I did salvage the one with the bad HDMI port by buying the component adapter cable and using a Composite to HDMI adapter as I did on my Roamio Plus. I picked up four used Mini's on eBay for about $50 each and we'll see how long those last! For now, everything is working again. The RGB to HDMI box I bought is this one: https://amzn.to/2Xy9w59

FYI, Minis have built-in MoCA and should not require an adapter.

Used MoCA adapters can be had for cheap, including some MoCA 2.5 adapters for just $35 … but even a free MoCA adapter wouldn't have been of any use if the Mini's Ethernet port had gone bad, right? (Since that's how the Mini would need to connect to/through the MoCA adapter.)

If you meant adding a MoCA adapter to establish a MoCA/Ethernet bridge for your LAN to which the Mini could connect as a MoCA client, yeah, one might hope that the Mini's built-in MoCA hardware would allow connection if the Ethernet port is dead, but past reports indicate that the hardware is likely integrated as both interfaces are usually defective if one is.

Yes to the second option you mentioned. I just wanted to go from Ethernet to MoCA. So I just tossed it with the other bad ones. The replacements I got on ebay came with remotes and power supplies so I have plenty of spares now! So far all is working well now including the RGB to HDMI adapters.

There was a time when they actually HAD support and SHOWED that they cared about their customers. That's all gone away. I have one with the same problem. After over an hour on the phone, most of it on hold, they offered $25 off a new one....
