I have had two working S Cable Cards for some time now.

Should I consider changing the 2 cards out for one M Card?

What is the benefit of the M card over the S card other than only having to pay for one CC (I assume).

If this question has been asked before, I apologize.

Note that if you have a Series 3 TiVo then you currently need two cards no matter what type they are. TiVo HD will allow you to use just one M-Card.

- there's one fewer device that can fail and screw up your recordings.
- there's one fewer device for the cable company to misconfigure.
- when the cable company misconfigures it it will be obvious which card is misconfigured because there's only one per DVR.

Given the high chance of a cable company screwup and the possible fees involved for a truck roll to replace 2 Scards with 1 Mcard I would leave good enough alone especially if your cards are working without any issues and the charge for the 2nd card is not exorbitant.
