Setup without contract?

I bought a Premier to use as a DVR for antenna use and did not realize that it required a contract with TIVO to even setup the channels. Is it possible to setup a premier without a TIVO contract? is it possible to get one-time setup?:confused:

It would need tivo service to operate, but there is a 7 day service when you get a box, after that, it stops working.
