In going through guided setup all is OK until the loading process.

Setup goes through prep, connect, getting info and disconnect. It then starts the loading process and then quickly shuts down and returns to the guided setup screen.

Any ideas or suggestions welcomed.

Sounds like the SW version on the Premiere is to old to update. In the last year TiVo has blocked older SW versions from upgrading to the latest software. You’ll need to reimagine your hard drive with the current version and then persimmon guided setup.

Post a request in the upgrade forum for an image request for your model and target HDD size and then use the DVRBAR software to restore on a Windows PC.

I understand your directions and I got the idea and will do so. I read up on the dvrbar software and its installation.
Looks like a good project for a snowbound day.
Hopefully one of my daughters or grandchildren will be able to help with the actual restoration.
