I am missing channel 116 A&E on my Tivo Series 2. I did the Tivo report channel missing thingy awhile ago and got no response.

So my question is this.. can the Tivo Series 2 tune channels above 100? Is 116 beyond it's reach? Just wonderin.. cuz it kinda sucks to not be able to switch to my Tivo TV when watching stuff on that 1 channel. Kinda defeats the whole mantra of tivo.

The internal tuner for TiVos can only record chs 2-99. Above 99 requires the use of an external cable box.

With its built in analog tuner, no, 99 is its limit. You need a cable box for above that.

Thanks for the prompt reply.. Guess I am stuck using an external VCR for that channel.. unless...

One last question.. Would either of the HD Tivos be able to tune above 100 using analog cable? Just wonderin.. cuz someday I might upgrade if I can transfer HD content via lan but I don't plan on switchin to HD cable for a long time. Might be a dumb question.. but nobody talks of analog cable on HD Tivos.. so I haven't a clue.
