I have a series 1 tivo with a turbonet card. Everything worked fine for several months, but then it wouldn't connect. I switched back to phone connection. Everything okay. Just lost my phone connection (SunRocket) and again am trying to connect with turbonet card. Restarted machine with ,#401 as dialing prefix.

Router shows port connection. Call is made but "failure to connect" message comes up.

Anyone have any thoughts? Programming runs out on Monday.

Try bypassing your router going direct to the internet modem. Power everything down, then power up modem first, then tivo. See if that gets you a clean ip and connects. Then go from there.

Check log files (especially tclient) for errors.

Also check that there are not I.P. address conflicts with other devices on your network.

Try:
Power everything off, modem, PC, router, Tivo.
Then restart in this order:
Modem, after retart,
Start router, after restart,
PC, after restart,
Power-up TiVo last.

This allows the router to assign an IP address as the device comes online and should result in no conflicts.
