I was curious about a few things since I figure one of these days I'll make the switch. I've got a series 1 with a lifetime subscription.(But it's not a grandfathered S1) I'm thinking currently there's no offer to transfer that to an HD Tivo or S3 Tivo, is that correct? (I know, they had an offer awhile ago but I figured I'd be better off waiting since it'd probably be cheaper in the end.) Also I've heard you get a discount on multiple Tivos. Would that apply to me since I do have the S1? (So theoretically even if I couldn't get a lifetime transfer I'd only pay whatever that reduced rate, 6 or 7 dollars I think.)

Oh well, maybe it's better to wait at the moment. (I mean they might offer the ability to transfer for a fee, turn on TivotoGo, and officially support extra external storage.)

It's $6.95 for the second TiVo, and the first TiVo has to call home to make maintenance calls every so often. Otherwise, TiVo will only see one active Tivo and charge you full price.

As for transferring lifetime membership, I have not seen any reference to Tivo offering future lifetime transfers for non-granfathered units.

Tivo announced that TivoToGo will be turned on in November, as will MRV and TivoComeBack.
