Serial Connection to Cable Box Automatically Changes Channels

I have a Motorola STB and have been using IR for quite some time.

I recently connected the Serial connection. When it is connected to the STB, it keeps sending a signal to increase channel (Channel Up). I have re-booted the TiVo and the STB. Any ideas?

Yes I did.

I have two cable boxes. One worked fine. The other has this issue.

Have the cable company replace the cable box and see what happens.
