I just got off the phone with my cable company. They say the next time I can have a tech come to the house to install the two cable cards for my new Tivo HD is Mid september. I'd really like it to be done before then

They said I can come to the local office and pick them up... can I install them though? And, if so, can anyone explain the process. Is it as easy as just plugging them both in, and calling them to have them INIT it?

Many have installed their own cards, although some companies do not allow it, or allow it only in some areas. Install instructions came with your TiVo, and are also available on the TiVo website. Installation is easy, but you do need to follow the instructions. After each card is installed, a call to the cable company will initialize the card.
