Season Pass Backup/Transfer?

1117 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  mick66
I remember reading something about season passes being stored on the tivo server IF you are using kidszone or a GuruGuide. There have been reports of season passes magically reappearing after clear & deletes, hard drive changes etc.

IF that's true.......

I ordered a free series 2DT, 80 hour, to replace my series 2, 40 hour. Is there anyway to use this "feature" to transfer my season passes?

I was thinking, if i turn on kidszone/guruguide on the 40 hour now so my season passes will upload to the tivo server, then do a TSN switch when the DT arrives, and wait for the season passes to download?

How would that work since to keep my 6.95/month and get the tivo free, I signed up for the 3 year monthly plan? Money wise I intend to cancel the 40 hour and keep my "3 year" commitment.

The transfer of TSN can't happen as the DT has service activated on it.
Here's where Pony describes that feature:

He specifically mentions this is tied to the TSN, so you can't use it to transfer the settings to another box, just the same one.

Thanks. I was hoping that swapping the TSN on the website would work.... Might try it anyway, just to see.
Not sure what you mean about "swapping the TSN." The TSN is tied to the box itself, you can't change it.

That would only affect the billing. The Tivos TSN remains the same forever.
