This happens randomly (maybe 2 or 3 times a week) - I'll be watching a show (any show) and, out of the blue, the picture gets darker by about 25 %. I turn the receiver off for about 30 seconds then back on again and things are back to normal. The receiver is about a year old and my TV is fairly new as well. Other input sources appear just fine so the TV is probably not at fault. Is my receiver's HD going bad? Any other ideas? BTW, the S4120R is neither hacked or modded.

Have you run the other sources through the same inputs and cables as the DVR?
