no one wants to help me.
Tried exactly that. No success. They verified that I should have that channel in my lineup and they sent an authorization hit. This did not fix the problem. I also noticed that AETV HD (channel 200) is not available. I never noticed that before since I never tuned to that channel.jrm01 said:I have found that the best way to get Comcast to solve the "missing channel" problem is to call them and navigate thru the menu maze as though you wanted to upgrade your service. When you get to a live person ask them to verify what lineup you should be getting now. If you don't get what they say, tell them you have cablecards and ask for a "authorization hit" on the cards. Stay on the line and verify that it works.
Are you getting a Channel Not Available message (indicating improper authorization) or just a grey screen (possibly indicating channel strength)?ReidWings said:I'm hearing others report that this channel is all pixelated on people's regular Comcast HD boxes. Would this cause it to totally drop out on the cable card?
It's just a grey screen. I'll try the amp and see if that helps. We have notoriously weak signals here, but I've never had a channel drop out completely before if that's what it is.jrm01 said:Are you getting a Channel Not Available message (indicating improper authorization) or just a grey screen (possibly indicating channel strength)?
I'm no expert on how channels and frequencies inter-relate, but it's possible that the problem is a weak signal that only affects certain frquencies.
If a tech is coming out he could check the signal strength. If not, you could try a in-line amplifier (10dB) on the coax before the Tivo.
I tried this many times. I'll try the amp next time I'm home during a game. It makes it hard to check since the channel is only active for games!LJJ said:I have had a similar problem in the past. Did you try to reboot? It worked for me.
