What am I missing here? I got this thing to record two channels at once. 1 might be Fox and the other might be ABC both a 8pm

Comcast, with a Mot DCT2000 series.

Tivo makes this suggestion to only use 1-99 for Tivo tuner (Cbl) and 100 and up for cable box (Box).

But the main problem is what if I want to record Fox Ch7 at 8pm and ABC Ch10 at 8pm. Comcast's Box channels = the cbl channels is Box7 = Cbl7

Given the "Tivo suggestion" I can't, cause I am not to "check" both box and cbl. I can't record Ch7 and Ch8 at same time using just CBL can you?

I see nothing in the manual about this. Nothing on the Tivo Support site about this also.

So, I have checked both CBL and BOX on stations that I might want to "record at the same time". One is CBL (tivo default) the other is BOX.

This interface needs work. I do have double channel listings in the guide. But there is no distinction if they are CBL or Box. I know from selecting that the "top" listing is "box".

Also season passes. There is no "double" listing. Only the BOX channel is listed. How am I to assign season passes to CBL channels that use the tivo tuner? Tivo turner is more reliable than the MotoBox for channels 1-99.

The only way around it is go get season passes via the "guide".

What am I missing? I thought a DT was to be easy to use and not this complex?

Or am I over analyzing things and making it more complicated? Man it was easier to just have 2 tivo's.

You are over analyzing things. If you just select the cbl versions as TiVo suggests then both of your shows should be recorded with no problem. When setting up the season pass it does not matter if you choose cbl or box. TiVo sees them both as the same since the channel is the same (e.g. ABC).

So you are saying to remove the "BOX" dupe channels on 1-99, just go with "CBL" (internal tvio tuner) and the tivo will record two channels using "CBL" automatically if they are at the same time using the internal tuner.

I knew it shouldn't be this hard.

that does the trick. The Dual tuner will record two 1-99 channels at the same time. No need to list the "box" 1-99 in the guide.
