For those still getting the S03 error, about a month ago I did a clear and delete everything and my TivoHD has been running smooth ever sense. It's been up for 31 days with no errors at all.

Spoke too soon, 37 days and the error is back...

if the tivo is connected to a tuning adapter. disconnect the usb cable at the tuning adapter.
after a couple of days tivo should complete GC then update and index the new guide data.

my tc648250 S03 returns after a few weeks; i have to do that to get it working again.

No tuning adapter, just an irritating problem.
