I have a tivo romio pro and 4 minis . The pro is connected via ethernet and minis via moca. Had it 5 years without issues.

Since hurricane Laura, we have not had internet or cable (8/26/20). We have been able to watch shows on the romio via the minis until last night. We are getting error v125. The minis can see all shows available on the romio. I have reset everthing..routers..devices etc. I noticed that all devices are pulling an ip address on the router after the reboot except the romios built in stream.

Does this functionality stop working if the main romio unit has not "phoned home" in a certain amount of time?

Thanks

After powering down everything (router, switch, roamio and minis) , the minis would not even read data from the roamio. I used my cellular hotspot to update the roamio. I put the network settings back to ethernet+moca and the minis can now play recorded shows from the roamio.

As you figured out, the Mini's need to phone home periodically or they become doorstops. Anytime there's a problem with a Mini not seeing the Roamio the protocol is to force a connection from the Mini followed by forcing a connection with the Roamio to get everything synched.

I was suprised it worked. The minis actually never "phoned home". They are connected via moca. To use wireless on the roamio, i had to disable moca and ethernet. The minis all still show wrong times, but they can access and play the roamio shows so all is good.

If you continue with the Internet setup issue, a wireless bridge at the Roamio Pro would allow the DVR to remain connected via Ethernet and acting as the MoCA/Ethernet bridge (allowing any Minis to phone home via the MoCA connection, if needed).
