My Tivo series 2 started freaking out. At random intervals it will either get fuzzy shaky or just rolling the screen. Much like a VCR with bad tracking. I know it is not the harddrive since it continues to do it even after a replacement with a new one. Is my TIVO dying or can it be fixed. Has anyone else heard of this problem. I have lifetime service and don't' want to get a new one because the cost of a new TIVO and then paying to transfer the service would be to expensive. It does fix it temporarily if I unplug it and plug it back in but sometimes you need to do this a few time in a row till the picture is truly clear again.

I think I have had the same problem twice since the latest update. When I switch tuners, the picture will be "locked up" and will clear if you hit the skip back button. The same problem then comes up on the second tuner when you flip back. A reboot has fixed it both times but I am expecting it to happen again soon. I have had absolutely no problem like this until the update.

How is the TiVo connected to the TV?
What's the source for the TiVo?
If you connect the source directly to the TV, does it still roll?
The TiVo is connected to the TV Via the coaxial Cable and through the A/V center by component output the picture will roll on both.

The source for the TiVo is Charter Cable Coaxial straight from the box outside.

If I take the TiVi out of the equation the picture is fine. I have done this by either unplugging it and I can just change the channels on my TV or If I Just plug into the TV it is fine so it has to be coming from the TiVo.

It seems to be happening every couple of days.

I have a series 2 as well and I am experiencing the same problems of rolling picture that SnowGod speaks of. This has happened a couple times within the last month or so. In the past, unplugging the unit solved the problem. It no longer helps and the picture just keeps rolling with a horizontal line. Cable is fine if I bypass the Tivo. Any ideas?...suck light is on!

I bet your problem is similar to the color loss problem, I would imagine that there is an issue somewhere in the circuit which feeds the Y signal to the S-Video filter.

If you have a bad cable your problem will consist of the video flickering, if it isn't flickering then your cable is fine.
