I have a new-to-me Roamio Plus purchased off of eBay that we just discovered deletes ALL recordings any time it is restarted, either via the "restart box" menu or by pulling the plug.

All the Wishlists and OnePasses are still there. So are upcoming shows to be recorded. Just no previously recorded programs remain, even ones that were marked "do not delete".

Can't say I've heard of this one before! And I've had TiVos going all the way back to Series One.

Before I jump through all the hoops to return the TiVo to the person I purchased it from, is there any explanation as to how this is happening and is there a setting I can change that might be causing this?

I've tried to find the (Kickstart?) code for getting the TiVo to restart using the OS from the alternate partition, but can't find it. I've done Kickstart 54 and 57 and the hard drive passes.

this is symptom of a hard drive being replaced, but not married to the other hardware - perform a "clear & delete everything" to fix it.

I performed another clear and delete yesterday late afternoon and have restarted the Roamio twice since without loss of previous recordings. Thank you for your suggestion as it appears to have solved my issue.

I am having similar problems... If I do the "clear and Delete everything"... Will it give me any grief with my cable cards and tuning adapter? I have to call the cable company and have someone come out because they are so... sensitive.

Thanks. Jeannette

You'll probably have to get your provider to re-pair your CableCARD.
