Roamio losing channels on just one frequency

I have FIOS and a Roamio. Periodically, I will lose all channels on just one frequency. If I remove the coax and put it back in the channels will come back. Week or so later it repeats. Coax problem? Roamio problem? Anyone have any thoughts?

You said "just one frequency", so you have above average tech ability. On that entry in Diagnostics there will also be a Program Number. In the OTA world that would be the sub-channel. Your quest, should you have a lot of free time, is to find the other channels that share that frequency. One day I mapped my QAM channels to their virtual channels. I found that for HD there are usually three virtual channels to each 6Mhz physical channel. For HD there are about 10. My feed does group most channels by category, with HD being close to each other and news, movies, etc., all being grouped. But it's still boring but if the other channels on that frequency also drop, I blame the feed. Why a reconnection brings it back: no clue.

I had an issue months ago where CNBC and MSNBC would both go black at the same time. It was traced to the satellite feed.

I'm fairly certain that it is on my end. A while ago when this happened the first time, I thought it was on verizon's end. I called and happened to get a support rep in my city (Pittsburgh), she had a FIOS tv setup at her location and she tried the tune to my channels that were out. They were on for her. Thats when I re-seated the coax for the first time and it fixed the problem. Yet it persists.

Tune into that channel and tell us from Diagnostics the signal strength and SNR. It can be too strong and that can be an issue.

Sorry for the delay. Signal Strength - 98% SNR -39db

Who put the connectors on your coax cables?

Wiggle each one that is accessible and see if that causes changes.

I was in denial when Comcast agent told I probably had a bad coax connector (with your type problem.) But fortunately I found it on the backside of wall plate.
