Spinrite doesn't care about the disk format - it works at a much lower level than that. That said, it isn't exactly fast. I would expect it to take several days to work through a 3TB drive even on level 2.
If anything can salvage a drive at least long enough to copy it to another drive that's it, but you might want to try a straight duplication with MFSTools or a cloning dock first.
