I'm trying to revive my old Series3 with a new hard drive. I ordered a hard drive replacement kit from Weaknees on ebay and installed it, but after the lights flicker on the front of the box there's nothing. I didn't have any input coming into the TiVo, but that shouldn't matter....or should it?

Thanks for your responses in advanced

The capacitors in the power supply may have issues and not supplying sufficient power to the MB and drive to run properly.

What drive model was given as your replacement? What Tivo model? (Back label with TCD, or System Infomation, 1st 3 digits of Service number.)

If you were to get another power supply, it may be just as old as your own.

Replacing the capacitors would be better and cheaper (PS from Weaknees is $100).
If you do not have the ability/knowledge to replace the capacitors, find an electronics/computer repair place.
