I was impressed with this show. I recorded it and almost deleted it before watching and I'm glad I didn't. You can hopefully scratch this off the list of the first show to be cancelled this fall.

I actually watched it twice to make sure I knew the entire story.

Hope it sticks around the entire season and stays as good as this first episode.

I enjoyed it, but I started to have a sinking feeling in my gut because it seems like they are setting it up as the sort of show where there are endless reveals and many of them create enormous plot holes or conflicts with previous episodes. Nothing so far like that, but it has that sort of tone and structure to it. I really hope I'm wrong here.
I think there is a good story in there somewhere, but I was disappointed that they decided to make time jump around so much. It would have been better if they left off the teaser at the beginning, showed the waitress Becky trick when it actually happened, and then just had a couple flashbacks to younger Amanda to fill in some of the details. I get the feeling that they thought it would be impressive or high-degree-of-difficulty to have time jump around so much, but it actually ended up just being clumsy. I hope they get away from that in the future, because it does seem to have a good story underneath it all.

Also, I thought the "revenge" on the blond lady was a bit weak. She was not the primary target, but it still seems like she is getting off easy, assuming she had a hand in the Graystone deception as the secretary.
Why was Emily in jail ? She didn't have anything to do with what her father was accused of and she was what only around 8 to 10 years old ?

She said that she hasn't seen her father for ten years, and at the time of her release, she was said to be 10, so I am concluding that it all happened when she was ten. I am also expecting that they will eventually tell us why she was in jail. It was only a one hour pilot, after all.

She appears to be wealthy enough.

We don't know why there was a conspiracy to ruin her father, a much bigger question than why she was in jail.
This reminded me of that limited run horror/wedding story that took place on an island (title?) and also Happy Town (whose name I would never have remembered, except for the fact that the beautiful Amy Acker was in the cast).

18, when she was released.

He was a hedge fund manager and was having an affair with Victoria Grayson. Guess Victorias husband found out and made her end it but then there was something more to have all of those people turn on him. Hopefully we'll find out.

I don't think it was clear that he was having an affair with Victoria. He was said to love her. But whether anything came of that, and whether Victoria was married at the time, is something I did not see mentioned.
This is one of those shows that would be much better if they committed to a single season only. That way they wouldn't introduce all kinds of crazy plot devices to allow for them to extend it 4-5 seasons.

It was implied strongly during her conversation with her husband about cheating. Something along the lines of her cleaning up her mess and sacrificing for the family, and now it's his turn.

18, when she was released.
 Did I actually make such an obvious typo? It appears I did! Sorry, and thanks for catching that. Yes. 18 when she was released. Bad fingers!

She owns 49% of the guy's company who earns more in a week than the other rich people earn in a year. I guess she's wealthy enough. ;)

I think why they would put an 8 year old girl in prison is a bigger question. That seems crazy.

She saw that guy when she was 18, which can't have been too long ago. So she changes her hair color and thinks he won't recognize her?
Maybe she didn't realize that he still lived in the Hamptons---she didn't seem to want much to do with him and she probably focused all of her attention/research on her hit list...
The script for the pilot is a freebie on Amazon for the Kindle. I haven't watched the show yet, but the script was a good read and I have it on the TiVo. Just need to find time to view it.
I think it was some sort of JV detention not full blown jail although it sure looked like that. Maybe she did some bad things as she was probably placed in a bad foster home.

Actually I'm guessing she stopped changing her hair color as she was originally blond. :) I'm guessing its been several years since the release. Didn't she stay 6 months at some museum or wherever she was with her 'friend.'
I liked it, hope they can keep it up as well...

I understood that her father might have had a romantic relationship with Victoria, but that there also was a gigantic financial fraud thing which they pinned on him to save their lives and life style...
This may turn out to be really interesting. ;)

They didn't. It was ten years since she saw her father (presumably when HE went to jail). They never said how long she was in.
I enjoyed the episode but I'm not sure how long I can stick with a show that has no "good guys."
