Picked up a Roamio pro about six months ago with lifetime service ($134.00) and I'm going to retire my Bolt. My annual service expires 6/30/2021. I did get an email about 2 months ago reminding me my service was up for renewal. I did reply to NOT renew this service when it expires.

Going to the TiVo website I tried to cancel my service and was told I would be charged a $150 termination fee. My Bolt is about 3+ years old. I cannot figure out what the fee is for.

But... if they try to charge my CC... It's a virtual credit card and I placed a hold on any future charges on it. So TiVo can TRY to charge me a termination fee, but will not get a dime.

So, after my rant.... Wondering why TiVo would charge me a termination fee? They provide no refunds on service, so I'm not canceling anything. Just don't want to continue the service. Is TiVo trying to get an extra $150 for everyone that leaves?

Called TiVo.. No cancelation fee. They told me that notice would apply to folks who purchased hardware at a discount and were required to keep the service for up to 2 years. They did offer to add all-in for $250.00 to my almost 4 year old Bolt. I told him the Bolt is long past its lifetime now and unless all-in is less than $150.00. I'll pass. No deal..... So my Bolt is going in the box for now and probably the trash (or GW) as folks can't give them away on eBay. Will probably keep it as long as I have TiVo as a backup.
