I have set up a travel program that is in re-runs right now (I didn't know about it when it was first started) and have set my recording for reruns and new shows. If I understand the way this option works, I should get shows I have not seen before, but once I have recorded an episode, I would not get it again. In this case, however, I am getting some duplicates (and the program listings do include program descriptions).

What am I doing wrong? Or are my assumptions just goofed up?

You don't get it again for some number of weeks, but its not a permanent list. The period of time is actually 7 weeks (28 days). Is this the case? Or do you mean you get some duplicates within hours or days?

Selecting Repeat and First Run, records all episodes that have specific program descriptions and that have not been recorded within the last 28 days. This is the default.

That must be the problem. I don't remember exactly when the shows were first recorded, but it ws probably further back than 28 days.

A follow up question: I assume that if I had set the recording for new shows only, I would not get anything on a series that was only in re-run?

well this is different from what i expected. i "assumed" rerun ment as listed in the guide as a rerun.

so what if i record a show from season pass and a different channel shows the same program later that week or even next month?
i.e. hereos orignally plays on monday and then again on a different channel later in the week.
i assume the 'season pass' would only record on that channel but what about the 'wish list'?
