I posted this in early June and was surprised nobody had any thoughts so I figured I would take a chance and repost it. Maybe someone new will see it. One of the original issues resolved itself as well. The most annoying one remains and is described below.
I have been having a number of issues. I finally thought it was time to go to a 4k setup. I bought a new TV Sony XBR and a Denon receiver. The issue I am having is that when I fast forward video and hit play. The audio, at times drops out. The fix is to change the audio mode on the receiver. I had a similar issue with a Pioneer receiver as well.
In both cases I have tried multiple HDMI cables with no changes. The original wireless ethernet adapter was 802.11n. Thought that was the issue so traded up to an adapter that does 802.11ac
Both very odd and very annoying.
I am one of those people that refuses to let go of Tivo after 20+ years. Hoping to get some ideas here.
