I just downloaded a movie, in the same legal way as always, but it won't play in any of the usual media players on my pc, including VLC. It plays on Tivo, but I like to watch on my pc. Any way to repair a Tivo file?

You probably downloaded as a PS file and not as a TS file?

Usually resulting in Sound but no Video.

Change settings and re-download?

Sounds like it is a .tivo file. Try converting (decrypting) it.
