Hi, I have a Roamio Plus and the remote seems to double-tap often. Has anyone seen/fixed that?

Also, I'm tempted to open it and clean the contacts but would like to see if I can make the remote display my current TV control code so I can put it back in if I need to. Is there a way?

I've had a few that doubleclick over the years, I've just replaced them, I've never taken one apart to try and fix it.

low batteries can cause this behavior, have you tried fresh ones?

One of my remotes will occasionally do bursts of several taps in a row. Very annoying.

Open it up and give it a good cleaning. It won't lose the current programmed codes unless you do a global reset or program it to a different code.

I got it apart and cleaned the board contacts and the button contacts with alcohol. while reassembling, I noticed the IR leds are tight to the board but area for them is large. I bent them up so they sat in the middle of the clear red plastic "window" they shine out of. Now it works perfectly without double-taps, AND I don't have to aim it directly at the tivo, it will work aimed almost anywhere, like my old tivo used to.
